The City Manager is directly appointed by the City Council and is the Chief Executive Office of the City. The City Manager acts as a liaison between the City Council and staff, and is responsible for implementing legislative acts, policies, and programs enacted by the City Council. Similarly, the City Manager is responsible for communicating with personnel and making recommendations to the Council regarding the City’s operation and needs.

This Manager’s office focuses on the internal and external operations of the City and represents the City’s interest with various county, state and federal agencies and bureaus. The City Manager works aggressively in partnership with residents, businesses, Kerman Unified School District and the Kerman Chamber of Commerce to build upon its rural quality of life by fostering community pride, developing a vibrant and diversified economy, and planning for the future.


Responsibilities

The City of Kerman is administered by the City Manager, Ron Manfredi. His office is responsible for the overall management of all City departments and operations.

  • Under City Council direction, supervise the City’s administrative and day-to-day activities.
  • Represent the City of Kerman in regional and intergovernmental affairs.
  • Advise the City concerning policies on City resolutions and ordinances, long-range planning, economic development, budget and service related activities.

Economic Development

A major function of the City Manager’s responsibility is the coordination of local and regional economic development efforts. The Manager’s office aggressively works in partnership with the Kerman Chamber of Commerce, local businesses, and its regional partners (I-5 Business Development Corp., Economic Development Corp. (EDC) serving Fresno County) to enhance both local and regional business opportunities (see PRIDE program under Kerman Redevelopment Agency). Following several years of vibrant residential development, Kerman is experiencing strong interest in commercial, office and industrial development.


Office Hours

City of Kerman Administrative Office is open Monday thru Friday 8:00a.m. to 5p.m.
Summer hours of 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. are kept from Memorial Day through Labor Day.

Temporary City Hall Location - The City of Kerman City Hall and Administration Office have temporary relocated due to the City Hall/Council Chambers expansion project. We are now located at 942 S. Madera Avenue, on the southeast corner of Madera Avenue and "B" Street. We expect to be located at this facility through 2008.
