Animal Care: Animal care requirements include basic necessities such as: clean water available at all times, fresh food daily, shelter from the weather, overall maintenance of animal health including vet care if needed.

Leash Laws: Dogs must be on a leash when off their property in all urban and residential areas, including all parks in the City of Kerman.

Animal Bites: All animal bites must be reported to the Kerman Police Department and or the Kerman Animal Control (559) 846-8800. This is for your protection as well as your pets.

Aggressive Animals: Uncontrolled aggressive animals, threatening the well-being of others, may be subject to immediate impoundment and investigation which may include a formal hearing.

Defecation Laws: Any individual having custody of any animal must remove its defecation upon public or private property not controlled by the individual.

Barking Dogs: No person shall keep or maintain any animal which by sound, cry, or behavior, shall cause annoyance or discomfort to a person of reasonable sensitiveness.

Dog Limitations: No more than three dogs over the age of four months can be kept at a premise without a kennel license.

Dogs in City Parks: Dogs in any City park must be wearing a current license to be there.

Dog Licenses: All dogs over four (4) months of age or older residing in the City of Kerman are required to have a dog license. Licenses may be obtained from the Finance Department located at City Hall, 850 S. Madera Avenue Mondays through Fridays, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Please bring a valid rabies vaccine certificate when obtaining a license.
