The City Clerk/Administrative Assistant is appointed by the Kerman City Council and reports to the City Manager. The City Clerk’s Department is responsible for:
The City Clerk is the custodian of the Official Seal of the City of Kerman; serves as Clerk to the City Council and facilitates all Council meetings; serves as Secretary to the Redevelopment Agency; certifies copies of official records; and administers oaths and affirmations, including the Oath of Office for the Mayor and City Council. |

QUALIFICATIONS:
ELECTION DATES: Regular municipal elections are held on the first Tuesday in November of even-numbered years. GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS: During the Municipal Election the City Clerk serves as the Elections Official and is responsible for overseeing the proper application of State Election Code requirements governing the conduct of elections, commencing with the calling of the election by Council resolution, coordination of the candidate nomination process, and concluding with the official canvass and certification of election results. The City Clerk is also responsible for maintaining all campaign expenditure statements required to be filed by candidates in municipal elections and conflict of interest filings required by the Fair Political Practices Commission (FPPC) There is also The Easy Voter Guide Project that helps new voters and busy voters learn about how to vote and what will be on the ballot. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION New Council Members are sworn in and take their seats the first meeting in December. |
