KFRESH Fresno County’s Recreation Enrichment Scholastic Help (FRESH) After-School Program serves Kerman Floyd Elementary, Sun Empire Elementary, Liberty Intermediate, and Kerman Middle Schools. FRESH provides academic support, through tutoring and homework assistance, to its participants. FRESH also provides educational enrichment, by offering field trips and recreational activities. The KFRESH After School program is a shared effort among the Fresno County Office of Education and the Kerman Unified School District. The KFRESH After School program offers academic support, recreation and enrichment which are incorporated into the daily after school program. Programs are for K-8 grade students to: 1)improve academic achievement to help meet state and local academic achievement standards; 2)provide a safe and healthy environment after school; and 3)include a variety of student enrichment activities that reinforce and compliment the regular academic program (e.g., recreation, leadership, conflict resolution, character education, social skill development, art and music.) The after school programs operate daily when school is in session, from school dismissal until 6 p.m. Each school has an established program capacity based on the facility space provided by the school, so early registration is a must. Registration is accepted at individual school sites.
