Water Meters
Not all homes in the City of Kerman have water meters at this time. Due to a new state law, the City of Kerman will be required to meter all homes and businesses in the near future. The city has been looking at radio read type water meters, and has been working with different companies to determine which system will be the best for our use. If you have any questions about the usage or installation of meters, contact the City of Kerman Water Department @ 559-846-6159.

Water Services
The City of Kerman has 5 water wells and two (2) 750,000 gallon water storage tanks that supply the city with water. In 2005 The City of Kerman pumped 1.1 billion gallons of water from the water wells. As the town grows we will be pumping even more water each year. The water distribution system is run by a computer program called SCADA (Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition). This allows the water operators to control and monitor the wells and booster pumps by computer. This also allows the operators the ability to monitor and operate the wells and booster pumps during their off duty hours, by use of a laptop computer.

Waste Water Treatment Plant
The City of Kerman’s Waste Water Treatment Plant now receives 1.2 million gallons of sewage per day. The city’s Waste Water Treatment Plant is also run by the SCADA program and can also be operated and monitored the same as the Water distribution system.
