Water Service

Our Goal

To provide clean, safe, and affordable drinking water to the citizens of Kerman.

Water Service

The Public Works department is responsible for the City wells, distribution lines, water meters, and back-flow prevention systems. We strive to operate a quality water service by providing safe drinking water and excellent customer service at reasonable prices.

The City of Kerman has 6 water wells and two (2) 750,000 gallon water storage tanks that supply the city with water. In 2010 The City of Kerman pumped 1.0 billion gallons of water from the water wells. As the town grows we will be pumping even more water each year. The water distribution system is run by a computer program called SCADA (Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition). This allows the water operators to control and monitor the wells and booster pumps by computer. This also allows the operators the ability to monitor and operate the wells and booster pumps during their off duty hours, by use of a laptop computer.
